Okay, so we all know Ctrl + X, Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V (or should do), but what about these other nifty keyboard 'hacks'...

Although memorising which shortcuts do what can seem daunting, it's important to remember not everyone needs to know every shortcut. Learning and using the ones that are most important to you is a great way to enhance your Windows 10 experience. Here's 20 of our favourites...why not give them a try?

  1. Windows key - opens or closes the Start Menu

  2. Windows key + A - activates the Action Centre

  3. Windows key + D - shows your desktop

  4. Windows key + E - opens File Explorer

  5. Windows key + I - opens Settings

  6. Windows key + K - activates the Connect menu to link your device via Bluetooth

  7. Windows key + L - immediately locks your PC or allows you to switch accounts

  8. Windows key + M - minimises all windows

  9. Windows key + P - project your screen

  10. Windows key + Q - opens Search using Cortana with voice control

  11. Windows key + R - opens Run dialog box

  12. Windows key + X - opens power user features

  13. Windows key + Tab - opens Task view

  14. Ctrl + Shift + Esc - opens Task Manager

  15. Windows key + Comma - temporarily view the desktop

  16. Windows key + Ctrl + D - adds a virtual desktop

  17. Windows key + Ctrl + Left or Right arrow - switch between virtual desktops

  18. Windows key + Ctrl + F4 - closes current virtual desktop

  19. Windows key + Spacebar - cycles through your language and keyboard options

  20. Windows key + Semicolon - brings up the emoji box
