Content management

Keeping your house in order...

A Content Management System, or CMS, is software which facilitates the creation, publishing, distribution, organisation and management of digital content.

It provides you with all the necessary tools to populate your site with digital assets, quickly and easily.

ProteanCMS

Eonic has its own CMS, ProteanCMS, which allows you to edit and re-arrange content on the page without needing any knowledge of code. Its intuitive drag 'n' drop interface allows you to create, upload, and display all manner of assets, meaning your time is spent more productively. This has been the preferred option for hundreds of satisfied clients.

When appropriate however, we also work with WordPress, Joomla and Drupal, some of the most popular and well supported content management systems on the Internet. With these systems, you can purchase pre-built systems and templates which are fast to set up, but give you slightly less flexibility in terms of design and functionality.

When using our own content management platform, ProteanCMS, we develop all the functions and features you need in-house.  We work to current usability and accessibility guidelines to ensure your site looks great and works well for your customers.

A modular system

Eonic's modular system allows you to build up pages using different pieces of content. Choose any module you want to appear on almost any page, for example text, images, video, maps, events, product lists, grids, site maps and many more. These modules can be moved quickly and simply around the page by using the drag 'n' drop feature, or to any other page on your website in just a few clicks.

One powerful feature is 'locations', which enables you to set the same piece of content to be located on multiple pages on your website and you'll only have to edit one of them for all of them to update.

The content management system is designed to give you the flexibility you need as a business whilst keeping it simple for almost anyone to use, and remember, you don't need to have any knowledge of coding to use ProteanCMS.

Generic module settings

All of our CMS modules have the following flexible settings:

  • Status: Hide content from the public allowing you to create content without users needing to see it until it's ready.
  • Publish and expire: Set content to automatically be published or hidden when you want them to be.
  • Cascade to child pages: Set content to cascade to child pages so that it automatically displays on all of the children of the current page.
  • Box style: Select from a list of preset box styles. They often include, but are not limited to, backgrounds, borders, font styles and shadows.
  • Module links: Link to another part of your site, or to a different site completely, at the bottom of any piece of content.
  • Thumbnails: Select any image and it will automatically be scaled down to a uniform size to keep your styling consistent.
